Thresholds for Procurement Methods

Country Monetary Thresholds for Procurement Methods for Goods, Works and Non-Consultancy Services

Monetary thresholds which determine the most efficient method of procurement to be used in the procurement of goods and works under CDB-financed projects have been set for each of its Borrowing Member Countries (BMC) by the Bank. In arriving at each country-specific monetary threshold value, the following are considered:

  • the potential of eligible foreign bidders to participate;
  • an analysis of the procurement administrative capability of each BMC;
  • an analysis of the capability of local contractors and suppliers; and
  • the level of each country’s existing country procurement system.

The PPU will amend these thresholds from time to time as necessary.
