What is CDB’s Policy with respect to Recruitment?
CDB’s recruitment policy is to attract and retain staff of the highest calibre appropriate to job requirements and to organisation standards of efficiency, competence, professionalism and integrity. At the same time CDB gives due regard to recruiting staff on as equitable a geographic basis as is possible from among its member countries.
It is the policy of the Bank to give preference in employment opportunities to nationals of its member countries which are the Commonwealth Caribbean countries together with Colombia, Haiti, Mexico and Venezuela and the following non-regional countries: Canada, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom and the Peoples Republic of China.
To fulfill its mandate, CDB employs a wide range of skills. For example, our staff include technical specialists in environmental science, engineering, banking, finance, human resource management and development, information technology, macroeconomics, law, general management, public administration and project management.
CDB recognises the need to recruit fresh talent and therefore advertises vacancies through various media while providing promotional opportunities for existing staff with the requisite qualifications. CDB looks for mature individuals who understand development and possess sound interpersonal and communication skills.
We do not have a Junior Professional Programme.
What are the types of appointments offered by CDB?
The Bank normally offers the following types of appointment:
- Indefinite (full-time appointment of indefinite duration);
- Fixed-term (full-time appointment for a specific period of not less than one year and not exceeding three years); and
- Temporary appointment for a period of not more than one year.
CDB has very special needs in light of its international nature; competition is keen and employment opportunities are limited.
