Over the years, the spirit of William Demas’ scholarship has been upheld by distinguished lecturers who have all been committed to economic development. 

The Twentieth Memorial Lecture will be delivered by Calum Cameron of Proud Engineers on the topic, 'Transforming to Digital Society: Principles and Challenges.'

portrait photo of Calum Cameron in black jacketCalum Cameron witnessed the transformation of Estonia to a digital society over 25 years.  He is also a keen observer of the struggles in his native Australia and the United Kingdom to do the same. He is an experienced CTO who has built and lead digital project teams transforming financial services enterprises for over 20 years and has been a key influencer in the development of the Estonian startup ecosystem.


As Head of Europe's premier B2B and B2G startup accelerator, he leads the marketing of Estonia as a startup incubator and sandbox for disruptive businesses, and worked closely with many of the companies who now deliver Estonia's digital society. His mission is to build digital societies with adaptive governments around the world leveraging the people and solutions that built e-Estonia.
