Caribbean Women in Music Market Access Programme (WOMEX)

Oct 1, 2026

The Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), through its Cultural and Creative Industries Innovation Fund (CIIF) and the SheTrades Caribbean Hub, has selected 15 outstanding women-led music businesses from across the Caribbean to participate in the Women in Music Market Access Programme (WOMEX), a transformative initiative designed to strengthen international competitiveness and expand access to global music markets.

The programme supports women entrepreneurs working across key areas of the music industry, including business management, publishing, songwriting, production, music technology, and creative entrepreneurship. Participants will receive specialised market readiness training and international business development support, culminating in engagement with WOMEX 2026, one of the world's leading international music trade fairs, taking place in Gran Canaria, Spain, from October 21-25, 2026.

Building Caribbean Music Export Capacity

Valued at approximately USD 75,000, the programme combines technical assistance, training, networking, and international market exposure to help Caribbean women-led music enterprises develop sustainable pathways to export growth and global partnerships. Participants will benefit from:

  • WOMEX 2026 participant access passes
  • One-year subscriptions to VirtualWOMEX
  • International travel and accommodation support for selected delegates
  • Market readiness diagnostics and tailored capacity-building
  • Up to 15 hours of specialised training facilitated by the WOMEX Academy
  • Inclusion in a digital business catalogue promoted to international industry stakeholders
  • On-site networking support and post-event business development guidance

The initiative forms part of CDB's broader commitment to strengthening the Caribbean's creative economy, expanding opportunities for women entrepreneurs, and increasing the global visibility of Caribbean music businesses.
