Workshop: How can affected communities access Accountability Mechanisms?

Jun 26, 2018

The Caribbean Policy Development Center and the Independent Accountability Mechanisms of the Caribbean Development Bank and the Inter-American  Development Bank Group invite you to the Workshop, 'How can affected communities access Accountability Mechanisms?'

The one-day workshop seeks to foster greater awareness among Civil Society in Barbados of the role of accountability mechanisms and for the latter to learn how to access them.

This event will have limited space, so please confirm your participation by February 14 with Danielle Edwards, Accountability Analyst, Caribbean Development Bank via email edwardd@caribank.org or telephone (246) 431-1796.

The independent accountability mechanisms were set up to address complaints from project-affected people regarding the environmental and social impacts of development projects supported by multilateral institutions. Since civil society organisations (CSOs) are often involved in supporting affected communities to raise concerns and access recourse, the mechanisms conduct proactive public outreach with them to raise awareness of their services.
