The Opening Ceremony of the 55th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Caribbean Development Bank takes place on Wednesday, June 11 at 9:00am (-3 UTC).

Newly elected CDB President, Mr. Daniel Best will deliver his first Annual Meeting keynote address. Mr. Best’s address will provide an in-depth look at the Bank’s enhanced strategic direction and critical areas of focus as it operationalises its “Rebirth” to a more agile, responsive institutions better able to meet its members needs in the changing environment. The address will come against the backdrop of a rapidly changing global environment in which development aid may be moving away from the Caribbean, even as the Region remains extremely vulnerable to climate change and external shocks from geopolitical shifts and other global affairs.

Chairperson of the CDB Board of Governors and Brazil's Deputy Secretary for International Affairs and Development, Ministry of Planning and Budget, Ms. Viviane Vecchi Mendes Muller will also deliver remarks at the Opening Ceremony.
