The 49th Annual Meeting of the Caribbean Development Bank's Board of Governors takes place from June 2 to 7, in Trinidad and Tobago.

The Meeting programme includes a memorial lecture, seminars and a youth outreach initiative. The final seminar for the Meeting is on the topic, 'A Digital Caribbean.'

ICT is the fastest growing industry today, driven by the rapid pace of development and adoption of new technologies largely due to the liberalisation of and increased competition in service markets. This has contributed to waves of digitalisation and digital transformation globally, with new economic rents being extracted from the digital economy.

The Seminar will be organised around two “peer-to-peer” chats. Focussing on the current state of digital transformation in the Caribbean, speakers will highlight their experiences, and provide recommendations for advancing the Region’s digital transformation agenda.

Presentations will address three critical aspects of digitisation, namely:

• Transformation in Government
• Regulation and Governance
•  Innovation and Entrepreneurship

An interactive discussion between panellists and the audience will follow the presentations.
