OVERVIEW

The Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) is the host institution of the SheTrades Caribbean Hub. The Hub is a resource centre for women entrepreneurs in the region, providing access to:

•     Technical Training and Capacity Building
•     Networking, Mentoring, and Coaching
•     Market Access and Investment Opportunities
 

ABOUT SHETRADES

The SheTrades Initiative is the flagship programme of the International Trade Centre (ITC) which supports women in trade. ITC SheTrades targets all stakeholders across the trade and business ecosystem to create the right conditions and capacities for every woman, everywhere, to realize their full economic potential. The SheTrades Caribbean Hub provides women entrepreneurs in the region with access to key knowledge, resources, and networks, supports policymakers on inclusive reforms, and leverages public and private partnerships to amplify the impact of the work of both the CDB and ITC.

Open Call for Caribbean Women in Music- Market Access Programme for WOMEX 2026

A new opportunity for Caribbean Women in Music has been launched through a collaboration between the Cultural and Creative Industries Innovation Fund (CIIF) and SheTrades Caribbean.  Through funding of a total of USD75,000, this project supports a group of women-led music businesses to attend the World Music Expo (WOMEX) from October 21 to 25, 2026 in Gran Canaria, Spain. This opportunity covers airfare, accommodation, all-access passes to WOMEX, business features in a digital catalogue, onsite networking, post-WOMEX business lead reviews and provides 3 months of market entry preparation support.

Open to women business managers, publishers, songwriters, music technology developers, or producers operating under a formally registered business across CDB’s 19 Borrowing Member Countries.  Applicants must be members of the SheTrades Caribbean Hub.  This opportunity is not open to recording or performing artistes.

SheTrades Caribbean Grow and Go Grant Facility

2025 SheTrades Caribbean Grow and Go Grantees

The SheTrades Caribbean Grow and Go Grant Facility supported 20 women-owned micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (WMSMEs) across the Caribbean, awarding USD 420,000 in grants through the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) to help women entrepreneurs scale operations and access new markets.

Beyond grant funding, awardees completed a six-month capacity-building programme using the ITC SME Diagnostic Assessment Methodology, receiving tailored development plans to strengthen operations, enhance competitiveness, and increase visibility in regional and global value chains.

Selected from 106 applicants, recipients demonstrated strong viability, innovation, and growth potential. Businesses represented Barbados, Belize, the Cayman Islands, Dominica, Jamaica, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago, spanning agriculture, agro-processing and manufacturing, health and wellness, creative industries, ICT, and tourism—showcasing the breadth and resilience of Caribbean women-led entrepreneurship.
