The Caribbean stands on the frontlines of the global climate crisis. Though the region contributes less than 1% of global greenhouse gas emissions, it faces some of the most severe and costly climate impacts, from rising sea levels and intensifying hurricanes to prolonged droughts and devastating floods. These impacts are already eroding livelihoods, damaging critical ecosystems, and undermining economic stability across the region.
Amid climate change projections, which suggest an intensification of these risks over the coming decades, the Caribbean Development Bank has taken decisive action to integrate climate resilience into the fabric of our operations, ensuring it informs interventions. Guided by our mantra "Innovate. Transform. Thrive.", CDB is reimagining how development finance can work for vulnerable nations on the frontlines of climate change. Through innovative financing mechanisms, strategic partnerships, and deep regional expertise, we are helping our Borrowing Member Countries withstand and thrive beyond the storms ahead.
