Overview

The Government of Guyana (GOGY) has received financing from the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) and the United Kingdom Caribbean Infrastructure Partnership Fund (UKCIF) in an amount equivalent to US$ 178,709,000 towards the cost of the Linden to Mabura Hill Road Upgrade Project and intends to apply a portion of the proceeds of this financing to eligible payments under contracts procured under this project. Payments by CDB will be made only at the request of GOGY and upon approval by CDB, and will be subject in all respects to the terms and conditions of the Financing Agreement. The Financing Agreement prohibits withdrawal from the financing account for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, or for any import of goods, if such payment or import, to the knowledge of CDB, is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations. No party other than GOGY shall derive any rights from the Financing Agreement or have any claim to the proceeds of the Financing.

The following consultancy assignments will be procured under the project:

(a) Consultancy services for the Management of the Implementation of the Project on behalf of the Government of Guyana;         

(b)  Consultancy services for Community Level Road Safety Assessment and Education;

(c)  Consultancy services for Social and Gender Resilience Building;

(d)  Consultancy services for Needs Assessment, Capacity Building and Grant Assistance for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Guyana; and

(e)  Consultancy services for Strengthening Axle Load Control.

It is expected that these will be procured during the period February 2021 to August 2022.

The following works will be  procured under the project:

(f) Procurement for the Works for the Linden to Mabura Hill Road Upgrade.

It is expected that this will be procured during the period February 2021 to September 2021.

 
 
 
 

Eligibility

Consultants and Contractors from member countries of CDB will be eligible to participate in these procurement opportunities.  In all cases Consultants and Contractors shall not be subject to any restrictions under European Council Regulation No 2580/2001 of 27 December 2001 or the Terrorism (United Nations Measures) 2009 of the UK with a view to combating terrorism.
