CARIBBEAN DEVELOPMENT BANK HOSTS NATIONAL PROJECT MANAGEMENT WORKSHOP IN GRENADA

Published on
Officials from the public sector, statutory bodies, financial institutions and other agencies in Grenada involved in the management of projects financed by the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) will benefit from a workshop to be hosted by the Bank in Grenada from September 17 to October 5, 2012. The workshop on Project Preparation, Appraisal and Management seeks to build project management capability across several sectors through enhancing participants' skills in preparing and/or appraising feasible project proposals, and in implementing projects and programmes. The training will address project preparation, appraisal and management from the perspective of both the agency requesting project financing (such as public sector ministries), and the agency assessing such requests (such as local financial institutions). The three-week workshop will cover the entire project cycle, from design through to evaluation, and will incorporate a range of development themes including Gender, Environment and Disaster Risk Management and Managing for Development Results. The workshop will be application-oriented - participants will be required to apply project management methodology, tools and techniques to a selection of priority projects and to develop project proposals for possible consideration by CDB. The training is also expected to strengthen Grenada's capacity to implement and monitor CDB-financed projects targeted at both the public and private sectors.
