CIIF Relaunch and Creative Talk

The Caribbean Development Bank’s Cultural and Creative Industries Innovation Fund (CIIF) is re-launching on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at 10:00am (AST) at the Bank's Headquarters, Wildey St Michael, Barbados.

The relaunch event includes formal remarks, followed by an interactive panel discussion on the topic, "Creative Talk: Impact of CIIF Investments on Women-Led Creative Projects and MSMEs in the Caribbean."

Ms. Jamilia Alexander De Bique
Uppoint Technologies, Trinidad and Tobago

Jamilia is an accomplished entrepreneur and executive specialising in the apparel and fashion industry. Her diverse skills encompass retail, event management, fashion design, merchandising, buying, supply chain management, and strategic planning. In 2012, she founded Fashion Fundamentals Trinidad and Tobago which focused on capacity building. She also established Vice Versa Fashion Company, providing value chain management services to numerous brands and spearheading international projects and Uppoint, a cloud-based platform digitizing the fashion industry's primary and support value chain activities, expanding its reach globally. She is a graduate of Caribbean Academy of Fashion and Design, University of Trinidad & Tobago. 

Ms. Kimon Baptiste
Kimmysticlo Designs, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

Kimon Baptiste was named the Island designer of St.Vincent and the Grenadines at the 2008 Caribbean Fashion awards, and has been the recipient of several awards since then including the St.Vincent and the Grenadines youth Entrepreneur of the year in 2010, and the Caribbean Style and Culture award for Excellence in Fashion in Washington DC in 2018, she is  sought after throughout the Caribbean for her expertise in fashion and pageantry. Kimon officially launched her clothing brand Kimmystic.Clo in 2007 It is a sustainable, ethical brand which features ready to wear clothing made from natural fibres. Kimon, the creative director is a former Miss St.Vincent and the Grenadines and a graduate of the University of the West Indies with a Bsc. In Management and Psychology.

Ms. Alana Brooks
Independent Visual Artist and Architect, Barbados

A Bachelor of Science graduate in Social Sciences from the University of the West Indies and a Master of Architecture graduate from the University of Toronto, Alana Brooks is an Instructor at two of Barbados' tertiary educational institutions and an Associate Architect at an established design firm. She is also a fitness enthusiast and an "animal lover"  whose extracurriculars strongly revolve around the aforementioned. 

Alana is dedicated to developing a mode of design which explores the convergence of arts and sciences; the practical and the provocative.
