March 29, 2010 No. 11/10-G ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECT MANAGEMENT WORKSHOP HELD AT CDB Twenty-two senior environmental professionals have just completed a regional project management training workshop, which was held at the Conference Centre of the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) in Barbados. CDB, in collaboration with the CARICOM Secretariat, convened the workshop which ran from March 22-26, 2010. It was facilitated through a project funded by the European Commission entitled Capacity Building related to the Implementation of Multilateral Environmental Agreements in the African, Caribbean and Pacific Countries. The participants were senior level government professionals from the 16 Caribbean ACP countries, and the regional agencies with responsibility for the environment. The five-day workshop was based on a combination of theoretical explanations, and practical exercises supported by examples of approved environmental projects funded by CDB, the Inter-American Development Bank and the European Commission. The results of the workshop will help to build capacity for the design and management of effective environmental project interventions.
