Overview

The Government of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana (GOGY) has received financing from the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) in an amount equivalent to US$280,906 towards the cost of the project titled “Development of a Food Products Traceability System for Pineapples and Leafy Greens In Guyana;” and intends to apply a portion of the proceeds of this financing to eligible payments under contracts procured under this project. Payments by CDB will be made only at the request of GOGY and upon approval by CDB and will be subject in all respects to the terms and conditions of the Financing Agreement. The Financing Agreement prohibits withdrawal from the financing account for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, or for any import of goods, if such payment or import, to the knowledge of CDB, is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations.   No party other than (GOGY) shall derive any rights from the Financing Agreement or have any claim to the proceeds of the Financing.

Eligiblity

Consultants and/or Contractors and/or Suppliers from member countries of CDB will be eligible to participate in these procurement opportunities. Potential Bidders/proposers are advised to review the detailed eligibility criteria detailed in Section 4 of the Procurement Procedures for Projects Financed by CDB (January, 2021), as published on CDB’s website.

Instructions

The following consultancy assignments will be procured under the project:

(a) Procurement Specialist Services for the contracting of consultancy services and procurement of food safety software;

(b) Consultancy services for the implementation of a programme for gap certification through the establishment of a food traceability system;

(c) Consultancy Services to Provide Training to Technical Staff Across the Agro-Food Regulatory Framework in Guyana on GLOBAL G.A.P;

(d) Consultancy Services for the Preparation and Execution of a Marketing and Communication Programme on Food Safety and Traceability; and

(e) Procurement Specialist Services for the contracting of consultancy services and procurement of food safety software;

It is expected that these will be procured during the period November 2023 – December 2024.

 

The following goods and/or works and/or non-consultancy services will be procured under the project:

(a) Purchase, Installation and training on the use of the food traceability software; and

(b) Training Workshops.

It is expected that these will be procured during the period June 2024 – October 2024.
