Overview

The Government of Belize (GOBZ) has applied for financing from the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) in an amount equivalent to USD34,542,000 towards the cost of the Eighth Road Project (George Price Highway: Belize City to Hattieville) and intends to apply a portion of the proceeds of this financing to eligible payments under contracts procured under this project. Payments by CDB will be made only at the request of GOBZ and upon approval by CDB and will be subject in all respects to the terms and conditions of the Financing Agreement. The Financing Agreement prohibits withdrawal from the financing account for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, or for any import of goods, if such payment or import, to the knowledge of CDB, is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations.  No party other than GOBZ shall derive any rights from the Financing Agreement or have any claim to the proceeds of the Financing.

The Ministry of Infrastructure Development & Housing (Project Execution Unit) is the Executing Agency for the Project.  

Eligiblity

Contractors from eligible countries will be eligible to participate in these procurement opportunities. 

Instructions

The following consultancy assignments will be procured under the Project:

  1. Provision of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Intervention

  2. Provision of Advanced First Responder Training

  3. Environmental Safeguards and Health and Safety Specialist

  4. Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist

 

It is expected that these will be procured during the period January 2026 to December 2026.

 

The following goods and works will be procured under the Project:

  1. Upgrading of a 24km section of the George Price Highway from Belize City to Hattieville

 

It is expected that these works will be procured during the fourth quarter of 2025.
