Procurement Notice

GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE

The Government of Guyana (GOGY) has applied for financing from the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) in an amount equivalent to US$76,249,000 towards the cost of the Water Supply Improvement Project and intends to apply a portion of the proceeds of this financing to eligible payments under contracts procured under this project. Payments by CDB will be made only at the request of GOG and upon approval by CDB and will be subject in all respects to the terms and conditions of the Financing Agreement. The Financing Agreement prohibits withdrawal from the financing account for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, or for any import of goods, if such payment or import, to the knowledge of CDB, is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations. No party other than GOG shall derive any rights from the Financing Agreement or have any claim to the proceeds of the Financing.

The following consultancy assignments will be procured under the project:

1. Consultancy services for the Project Execution Phase for the Water Supply Improvement Project which includes the supervision of (i) the Construction of Five (5) Water Treatment Plants along the coast (7.3 million Litres per Day), (ii) the Installation of approximately 42km of Transmission Mains and (iii) Drilling of five (5) deep Wells

2. Consultancy services for the preparation of a National Non-Revenue Water Reduction Strategy and Action Plan

3. Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist

4. Financial Auditor

It is expected that these will be procured during the period August 2023 to December 2023

The following works and goods will be procured under the project:

1. Construction of Water Treatment Plants at the following areas:

1. Maria’s Delight, Region 2 – Lot 1
2. Leguan and Wakenaam, Region 3 – Lot 2
3. Bath Settlement, Region 5 and Adventure, Region 6 – Lot 3

2. Installation of transmission mains at the following areas:

1. Maria’s Delight, Region 2 – Lot 1
2. Bath Settlement, Region 5 – Lot 2
3. Adventure, Region 6 – Lot 3

3. Drilling of potable water Wells

1. Maria Delight – Lot 1
2. Leguan – Lot 2
3. Bath – Lot 3
4. Adventure – Lot 4

4. Non Revenue Water Related works
5. Procurement of leak detection equipment and vehicles

It is expected that the works will be procured during the period August 2023 to December and the goods during the first half of 2024.
