Overview
The Government of Belize (GOBZ) has received financing from the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) – United Kingdom Caribbean Infrastructure Partnership Funding towards the cost of the Sixth Road (Coastal Highway Upgrading) Project and intends to apply a portion of the proceeds of this financing to eligible payments under contracts procured under this project. Payments by CDB will be made only at the request of GOBZ and upon approval by CDB, and will be subject in all respects to the terms and conditions of the Financing Agreement. The Financing Agreement prohibits withdrawal from the financing account for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, or for any import of goods, if such payment or import, to the knowledge of CDB, is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations. No party other than GOBZ shall derive any rights from the Financing Agreement or have any claim to the proceeds of the Financing.
Eligiblity
Consultants, Contractors and Suppliers from member countries of CDB will be eligible to participate in these procurement opportunities.
The Ministry of Education, Youth, Sports & Culture (MoEYSC) is the Executing Agency for the Project.

Instructions
The following consultancy assignments will be procured under the project:
- Community Capacity Building for Livelihood Enhancement Projects
- Consultancy Service for Coastal Highway Corridor Structure Plan
- Monitoring and Evaluation Consultancy
It is expected that these will be procured during the period of May, 2019 to December, 2019.
The following works will be procured under the project:
- Road and Bridge Construction Works- Lot 1 From the George Price Highway intersection for a distance of 28km along the Coastal Highway. Works comprise the construction of approximately 28km, the refurbishment of three (3) bridges, the construction of one (1) new bridge and the construction of a new intersection at the George Price Highway.
- Road and Bridge Construction Works- Lot 2 From the end of Lot 1 to the Hummingbird Highway. Works comprise the construction of approximately 30km, the refurbishment of one (1) bridge, the construction of five (5) new bridges and the construction of a new intersection at the Hummingbird Highway.
It is expected that these will be procured during the period May, 2019 to December, 2019.
